Please join us in welcoming spine surgeon Ryan Martyn, MD, to Durango! Dr. Martyn is a Special Operations combat veteran who served as a Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician over several deployments. After leaving the military, Dr. Martyn earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Inspired by his military experience and desire to help the injured recoup their mobility, he pursued a career in Orthopedic Surgery. He completed his internship and residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania. Following his residency, he began his fellowship at the Spine Institute of Arizona.
Dr. Martyn is a member of North American Spine Society and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in non-operative and operative treatments of the spine. He has specialized training in minimally invasive spinal surgery, microsurgery, and motion preservation surgery.
Dr. Martyn is a devoted father and avid outdoorsman. He enjoys trail running, mountain biking, fishing, bowhunting, and backpacking. He and his wife, Michelle, have four sons.
