Animas Surgical Hospital is excited to welcome Dr. Gregory Churchill to its medical staff at Southwest Endoscopy Center. Dr. Churchill is a board-certified internal medicine physician and gastroenterologist. He joins the team at Digestive Health Associates, the only independent gastroenterology practice in Durango. Dedicated to providing personalized, patient-centered care, Dr. Churchill specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of digestive and liver conditions.
Dr. Churchill earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England and completed his residency at Lankenau Medical Center. He further advanced his expertise through a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, where he served as Chief Fellow and was recognized for his clinical research contributions.
At Digestive Health Associates, Dr. Churchill and his team are committed to delivering the highest standard of care in a welcoming and independent setting. With extensive experience managing conditions such as acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver disease, and colorectal cancer screening, Dr. Churchill ensures patients receive comprehensive, cutting-edge treatment tailored to their needs.
Dr. Churchill also contributes to the gastroenterology field through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international medical conferences. He is passionate about addressing healthcare disparities and expanding access to quality digestive health care for underserved populations.
When not providing care, Dr. Churchill enjoys engaging with the local community, playing acoustic guitar, and exploring the outdoors through kayaking, hiking, and pickleball.
