Animas Surgical Hospital welcomes ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist Deidre St. Peter, MD, from Southwest Eye Consultants.
Dr. Deidre St. Peter was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. For her undergraduate degree, she moved to Baltimore, Maryland to attend Loyola University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Post undergrad, she went on to perform research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and then completed medical school at University of Maryland School of Medicine where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was elected as a member of the Gold Humanism Society and as a junior member of Alpha Omega Alpha Society. Dr. St. Peter continued at the University of Maryland for her Ophthalmology residency where she served as chief resident and, in 2020, was named Ophthalmology Resident of the Year by the Greater Baltimore Medical Center faculty and her peers. Dr. St. Peter went on to complete her fellowship in Glaucoma at the University of Colorado and now specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, as well as advanced cataract surgery. She is now a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. Dr. St. Peter has presented at national meetings and has several publications in peer reviewed articles. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, attending concerts, travelling and spending time with her family and husband.
