A true citizen of the world, James (Jim) Pitts has worked in surgical subspecialties, emergency medicine, and as a Peace Corps medical officer in Turkmenistan. He administered healthcare to the indigenous population of a small Micronesian island for a decade before moving to Durango.
Jim also served as a combat medic in the army and as a physician assistant (PA) in both Iraq and Afghanistan. After graduating cum laude from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Jim earned a masters degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and completed an academic PA fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
