Animas Surgical Hospital proudly welcomes Dr. Cameron Clarke to our medical staff. Dr. Clarke is a board-eligible, fellowship-trained glaucoma and cataract surgeon who joins the skilled team at Southwest Eye Consultants.
Originally from southern Utah, Dr. Clarke completed his undergraduate studies at Bringham Young University in Provo, Utah. He attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, for his medical training. While there, he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society by his classmates in recognition of his compassionate, patient-centered care. He remained in Texas to complete his internship in internal medicine and residency in ophthalmology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas.
After his residency, Dr. Clarke pursued advanced surgical training in treating glaucoma, learning under the tutelage of world-renowned glaucoma surgeons in El Paso, Texas. Throughout his training, Dr. Clarke has been involved in multiple research projects, presenting at national ophthalmology meetings, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), as well as publishing as the first author in top ophthalmology journals including Ophthalmology and the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (JCRS).
Dr. Clarke is a board-eligible, fellowship-trained glaucoma and cataract surgeon recognized by the American Glaucoma Society (AGS) as an expert in the care of glaucoma. He is trained extensively in the latest technological innovations within glaucoma care, including Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT), sustained-release drug implants, Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS), Cyclophotocoagulation (CPC), and traditional incisional glaucoma surgeries. He is an expert in complex cataract surgery and multifocal and toric intraocular lenses. He is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Clarke and his wife have a Bernedoodle dog and enjoy backpacking, mountain biking, and trail running.
