Animas Surgical Hospital has been named one of the top-rated hospitals for patient experience by Becker’s Hospital Review. This distinction recognizes Animas Surgical Hospital as being among the top four hospitals for patient experience in the entire state of Colorado.
The list uses data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). HCAHPS is a national survey that asks patients about their experiences during a recent hospital stay. Patients are polled on several topics, including nurse and doctor communication, responsiveness of hospital staff, communication about medicine, discharge information, and care transition.
“We are truly grateful to our extraordinary team members and medical staff for always putting our patients’ needs first in the exceptional care that they provide. It’s that personal level of care that really makes a difference to our patients,” said Joe Theine, Animas Surgical Hospital CEO.
Animas Surgical Hospital is the only facility in the Four Corners to receive a five-star patient survey summary rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. When polled, 91% of patients reported that they would definitely recommend the hospital to their friends and family. (This rate is higher than the Colorado average of 71% and the national average of 75%.)
