- BIO:
Specializing in the full range of injuries from the collarbone to the fingertips Dr. Kane Anderson is located in Durango, Colorado and is the only double board certified surgeon (both Hand Surgery as well as Orthopedic Surgery) in the Four Corners area. Dr. Anderson believes that patients are more than their X-rays and MRIs.
The Dartmouth-trained surgeon specializes in care of upper extremity problems. He knows from nearly two decades of experience that carefully considering all the information by listening to the patient and assessing the studies is the way to identify the best course of action.
Dr. Anderson has the training, expertise, and skill to handle the full scope of hand, wrist, wlbow, shoulder and nerve disorders: from acute and chronic issues like fractures and sports injuries to nerve and tendon disorders, as well as arthritis pain. This includes innovative minimally invasive surgery for carpal tunnel and in-office latest techniques for trigger finger and Dupuytren’s contracture.
TRAINING
After medical school, Dr. Anderson was accepted into the highly regarded orthopaedic surgery program at Dartmouth Medical School. Under the guidance of world-renowned surgeons and educators, Dr. Anderson completed his orthopaedic surgery training. Dr. Anderson then chose to gain additional technical training in hand, upper extremity and microsurgery and was awarded a highly competitive surgery fellowship with internationally recognized orthopaedic and plastic surgeons at Harborview Hospital and the University of Washington in Seattle. These facilities serve as the major referral center for the most complicated hand and upper extremity surgeries for a five-state region. While there he completed over 800 trauma and reconstructive procedures. After moving to Durango over a decade ago, he went on to become board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and additionally pursued and obtained a second board certification in Hand Surgery. Since that time, he has been inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
